DuChene Disney Destination Vacation March 2015

It all started with some financial planning, many months ago. Then, on December 25, 2014 we gave each child a shoebox filled with Disney/warm weather destination vacation clues.
On March 7, Krista headed to Houston to escape the winter for some marathon training.
On March 17, one day after Jonathan's birthday, he flew with the kids to meet Krista at the airport in Orlando.

First flight for the kids (well, Micah flew to Costa Rica for Franz and Aimee's wedding but he was a baby). Was so exciting to fly and see mom after her 10 day training camp in Houston. After getting the rental van, finding our way, and getting groceries, we were finally settled nicely into our Orange Lake resort. It had 2 bedrooms, 3 beds, 2 full bathrooms, a full open-concept kitchen, a dining room, and back porch where we could see the daily Disney fireworks. Amazing.
First park was Magic Kingdom.

If the boys went on a big or scary ride, Leah and I did our thing. Merry-go-round ...
... and pink smoothies were fun!

Other times, we took a break.

Lots of photo opportunities ...

Laughing with Goofy.

Jonathan teaching the kids a thing or two.

Fast track fun.

Fast track - boys designed their own race car.

Second park was Epcot.

Riding from the parking lot to the park on the trolly. Then on the train.

Taking the ferry from Magic Kingdom back to the parking lot.

Hugs with Minnie Mouse.

Giving the chopsticks a try

Looks like Seth's straw is easier than the chopsticks!
Loved this restaurant . The live cooking of our food in front of us was very entertaining.

Kids loved the big Lego store at Downtown Disney. Here they are, enjoying some building before we head out.

Cool treats.

Minnie ears - her souvenir of choice.

Third park was Animal Kingdom.

Fam photo with the mice.

Typical scene near the end of a long day of walking.  Boys are still wet from a ride.

Waiting for the electric parade, back at Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella, Leah's favourite princess.

Amazing fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
Fourth park - Hollywood Studios.

Cinderella's carriage.

Seeing it live - stunt and movie productions.

Mary Poppins.

One of the Team DuChene highlights, especially for Leah, was the Frozen Sing-A-Long. Elsa and Anna are live!

Boys did the elevator drop, Tower of Terror.

Window seat for the little lady on the way home.

Boys loved their personal screens, headphones and snacks.

On the non-park days, we enjoyed a slower pace at the resort, swimming at one of the five pools.
What a great trip! Super memories forever.
