Summer, Summer, Summer Time

Couldn't resist taking this picture of their matching outfits.
The boys enjoy one of Aunt Marilyn's squares before heading to the tub.

Thank you, Frank, for coming for dinner the other night. Although we didn't get to run a speed workout together, I am glad you were able to read Micah his "two" bedtime Bible stories! By the way...nice feet!

An update from the author...dietitian work, home life, church involvement, and running are going so well. I am so blessed. Check out my running blog to see my progress, future races, coach's website, notable links, and those who have supported me: Chariot Carriers, Eload and adidas.

Seth - Infant Signing

Let me take you back 2 years. Yes, we've done it again - infant signing. We've found this very helpful; the little guy can't speak the specific word but can communicate with a sign.

"Food/Eat"

"Please"

"More"

"Drink"

"All Done"

Maple Grove Family Camp 2009

The Cylka and DuChene gangs had yet another great week together at Maple Grove Family Camp. Canoeing, swimming, crayfishing, trips to the candy store, hanging out with Auntie Joyce and Uncle Glen, playing at the park, eating great food, reading the Camp Crier (Janna is the Editor!), going to the movie theatre, and of course learning more about Jesus at a.m. and p.m. programs made for a GREAT week.

The Cylka and DuChene gang - what another great week together at Family Camp.

Micah and Ben sure had fun together this week. Poor Eli was sick for most of it so missed out on a few things.

Uncle Jonathan maintained the cabin and Uncle Steve cooked dinners, and they both helped with the preschool program. Great job, guys.

It was great to have Karen, Victor and Justin for a day. I think they really enjoyed the crayfishing at the creek and swimming at the pool.

This video sure shows how tired everyone was by the end of the week!

Eli didn't feel too well this week but always knew Seth's every move (this was helpful)! He has a heart for his little cousin.

Thanks Auntie Janna, for packing great toys for the kids.A typical day includes fun wrestling with cousins on the couch.

Micah takes a break from his Rescue Hero game to hear Auntie Janna read a story.

Bibs make great Rescue Hero capes.

Family Festivities

Stefan, Wendi, Carter and Peyton made their trip to Ontario this week. Although short, we really enjoyed seeing them. Part of getting together included (another) trip to the African Lion Safari.

Because Jonathan was with us, we went for a ride on the elephant. And of course, we enjoyed ice cream again.

On the weekend, we celebrated Carter's birthday and had a DuChene family boat ride.

Traditions

Janna and Steve hosted yet another great Canada Day bbq. We missed Uncle Franz, Auntie Aimee and Aidan this year but still had a good time.

Seth enjoyed his Canada Day cupcake...

as did Uncle Kevin and the other kids.

Walking to the park for some playing kept everyone happy, including our family.

Krista's 10 km Run

As some of you know, I have taken running to the next step (pardon the pun)! You can check out http://www.kristaduchenerunning.blogspot.com/ for more details if you are interested.
Part of my training includes races. I just finished 2nd female overall in 36:39 at the 10 km Peachbud in Grimsby. Next race is the Acura 10 miler in Toronto July 19.

Here we are after the race - Jonathan was glad to have the Chariot due to the rain and large volume of people.

It was so easy to pack it up.
