Fall Traditions

One thing we've enjoyed with Jenn and Dave and the kids is trail walking.
The 9 of us got bundled up ...
...and tried to ignore the storm clouds.
Our walk back was much quicker but...

we made it back to the vans before getting too wet.

The Events of Fall

Seth enjoys a walk in the double running/bike stroller.
Micah, Jonathan and Seth starting out.

Enjoying an apple from Brantwood Farm.

So many pumpkins to count!

Here is the last batch of produce from our garden. The carrots were an experiment. They were quite sad looking but the taste was amazing.

A Beautiful Fall

Seth 'caught' his first leaves.

One tradition Jonathan and I have enjoyed each fall is raking the leaves in our backyard. As promised, Micah is enjoying a run and jump in the leaves just like in his Clifford book.

Thankful at Thanksgiving II/II

Here is the verse we chose for Seth's dedication:

Matthew 6:31-33

31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Micah and I made cupcakes the night before.

It was so nice to dedicate Seth at the same time as his friend.Pastor Andy with Seth.

Grampa Peter with Seth Peter. We pray that Seth will be just like his Grampa - God loving, a servant, kind-hearted, and gracious.

Thankful at Thanksgiving I/II

On Sunday we dedicated Seth to God and had a combined family thanksgiving dinner after the service. We are so blessed to have such loving grandparents for our boys...
... and uncles, aunts and cousins. Gotcha, Rob (aka "Uncle Bob").
We certainly tried to get all 9 kids into a picture. Here's our best shot!
I love seeing my boys love each other.

Creative Play II/II

When Jonathan is home from work we love to get outside with the kids. He will often work on the lawn and I will go for a run. With 2 kids, we still make it work.
I asked Jonathan if it was comfortable and he said that he could carry Micah all day.
Now that Seth can sit up, he had his first run in the forward-facing running stroller.

I was glad to get out and run 15 km with my baby.

Creative Play I/II

Micah got creative with this egg carton. You'll often find him playing in the kitchen as I'm trying to prepare a meal!

He seems to love this spot lately.
Seth plays nearby, as happy as can be.
Daddy gets Micah's skates out from last year. Thankfully they fit! We start skating this week. Seth looks quite happy about it, doesn't he!

Micah sings, "Jesus Loves Me"

Here is Micah, singing "Jesus Loves Me".

Happy Six Months, Seth. Aunt Joyce and Uncle Glen Visit

Micah was pretty thrilled that he gave Seth his first bite of solid food. Seth ate it right up and went for more. Micah wanted some of Seth's cereal...sure enough, it didn't taste as good as his whole wheat chocolate chip pancakes with peanut butter and syrup!!
When Aunt Joyce and Uncle Glen were here, we were busy in the kitchen. My freezer now has carrot and squash baby food, applesauce and pureed tomatoes. All organic and so good tasting!
We miss Grandma and Grandpa Lehrbass (Krista's parents) but Aunt Joyce and Uncle Glen sure love their great nieces/nephews like their own grandkids. Thanks, Auntie and Uncle! Here are the boys, having a few snuggles before bed. Seth had been fussing a bit but as soon as Uncle Glen held him, he stopped.
One thing I really admire about Aunt Joyce is her strong faith in God. Here she is, reading a few verses to the boys. Seth just about grabbed her bible right out of her hands!
The squash was enjoyed by Seth.
