Team Canada...Ready to Run!

Check out the Team Canada pictures.

Team Canada!

Well, here it is! A picture of me with my Team Canada jacket. I will run with 3 other Canadians in the International Team Challenge Sunday, September 27. This morning at the press conference I met Fauja Singh & Ed Whitlock. Six years ago, at the Scotiabank Toronto Marathon Singh ran 5:40:04 a new 90+ marathon record; Whitlock ran 2:59:10 to set a new mark for 70+ and become the only septuagenarian on the planet to go under the magic 3-hour barrier. Today they are (I believe) 98 and 78 years old, respectively. Singh will run the 5 km and Whitlock will run the 1/2 marathon Sunday. Pretty spectacular, don't you think?!
Can't wait to see my men (Jonathan, Micah and Seth) when they meet me at the hotel Saturday!

First Haircut. First Day of Preschool.

Our "baby" after his first haircut.
Krystal did Seth's first cut, and Micah's 2 years ago.

Today was Micah's first day of preschool. He'll go one morning each week.

What a big boy.

Last week was quite eventful - we got our boys back from Grammy and Grampa's (check out the Quebec t-shirts they are sporting) and both next-door neighbours had roofing projects on the go. What fun we had, watching the action! Thanks, Scott and Norm!

Micah loves his scooter...

...and Seth his bike.

Jonathan and I are pretty sure this will be the boys' room soon (long before we need the crib for another)!

Live. Love. Laugh.

Quebec (part 4/4)

Jonathan and I just got back from a great weekend away. The boys went to Grammy and Grampa's and we headed to Scott and Sophie's at West Lake Willows Friday night.
Saturday night was spent in Quebec City and Sunday night in Montreal. We really enjoyed our time together and I was thrilled with my race. Enjoy the pictures (not in order, sorry).

West Lake Willows

is a beautiful place in Prince Edward County to cottage. Thank you, S and S!

Seth and Micah had a great weekend with Grammy and Grampa.

We enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner in Montreal after the race. Thanks, Dina and Gallo Nero!

Yummmy!

1st place, personal best and new course record in the 1/2 marathon (1:19:14)- yippeee!

Quebec (part 3/4)

Gotta love the spelling of DuChene!
Being congratulated by Ingrid and her teammates.

On your mark ... get set ... GO!

On the spot!

This is what "we runners" do -set out our stuff the night before a race (and triple-check it)!

Quebec (part 2/4)

T-shirts for the boys.
Balcony flag.

Taking a ride.

Oh, the scenes...

...so pretty.

Quebec (part 1/4)

Having a rainy but quiet and delicious dinner together in Quebec City.
Riding the bus downtown.

Hotel view (we raced on this bridge).

Comfort.

Fancy facilities!

To the Cottage ii/ii

What a great week at the cottage - tubing, fishing, swimming, relaxing, eating, scrapbooking, campfires, etc.

To the Cottage i/ii

A few weeks ago we enjoyed a lovely week "up north" at a cottage. As you can see, the view was beautiful. Thank you for inviting us, Aunt Nancy.

Micah caught his first fish. I love the smile!

Seth enjoyed lots of love from grammy and grampa. Keep those lips closed, Seth!

Seth's first paddle-boat ride.

Great food.

1:19:14 was a new record for myself and the course! Jonathan and I had a great weekend away as did the boys at Grammy and Grampa's. More pictures to come...
