Famous Last Words

The other night I was on the phone with my Aunt Joyce, telling her how well the boys have been going to bed. For a few weeks now, they've both been having great naps in the afternoon (1-4 pm) and amazing sleeps overnight (8:30 pm - 6 am). So, last night as usual, the boys had a bath around 8 pm and were in bed around 8:30 pm. At 9:30 pm, we could hear Micah through the monitor. There he was, in Seth's room, playing with my breastpump. So, back to bed he went. Then, at 10:15 pm, we could hear Micah again through the monitor. This time he was in the bathroom, playing with bars of soap! Finally, he was asleep around 11 pm and we were in bed around 12 am. Then, Seth's poor little system decided to get going at 4 am (after a few days of no dirty diapers) so just as I was falling back asleep, I heard Micah calling for me at 5 am! I tried to convince him it was still "night out". He stayed in his bed for a bit then was out for good around 5:30 am! Oh the joys. And oh my "Famous Last Words"! You can't see much in the video but you can hear a giggling 2 1/2 year old boy!

Maple Grove 2008 part 3/3

Here they are, in their pj's - Ben (5.5), Micah (2.5), Seth (3 mo), Mary (1.5), and Eli (3.5)...
...and with the adults.
After getting home and settling in, Micah got back into playing with his blocks and trains. Seth really enjoys watching his brother.
Mommy enjoyed a quick dip in the kids' pool after a bike and run on a very hot day. Mommy hopes to do a triathlon at the end of August.
Seth is just full of smiles.

Maple Grove part 2/3

Thank you, Uncle Glen and Jonathan for lugging the canoe and providing life jackets.
Micah and his buddy, Victor enjoying time on the beach.
Seth having a great time with his big brother.
Micah on the bike with training wheels. What a big boy!
Aunt Donna gave Seth a Bunnykins bowl at our Perry get together (what a great day). Here is Micah, using his Bunnykins bowl and cup. How special. Thank you, Aunt Donna and Uncle Cleo.

Maple Grove 2008 part 1/3

The Cylka and DuChene families had a great week in their cabin at Maple Grove Family Camp! Nine people (5 under the age of 5) in one cabin - we did it!
Micah, Uncle Glen and Jonathan really enjoyed canoeing around Thamesford, just outside Maple Grove. We also enjoyed many campfires, trips to the park, and swims in the pool. The weather was great!
Seth got lots of snuggles from Auntie Joyce and Uncle Glen.
The big boys took refuge under the table on the new deck during one of the few rains.
Our friend Karen and her 2 boys joined us for a fun day at the beach, which was about a 15 min drive away.
Micah LOVED the time with his daddy!

Micah enjoyed some beans in the front of the double stroller with his brother.
We had a great time at Kevin and Amy's. The girls were so helpful with Seth. Here's a picture of the kids (missing the 2 big boys).
