From Munich on the train, Jonathan and I arrived in Bern around 6 pm. We checked in then asked for a restaurant recommendation to enjoy the best the Swiss had to offer. We had what was suggested to us, a "Rosti" dinner. Basically it was shredded potatoes with your choice of toppings. It was tasty. Many had told us Switzerland was expensive. The dinner seemed reasonably priced but the ice cream we had later was pretty outrageous. $10 for a 2 scoop cone but oh well, was it ever good! Like every other European city we've visited so far, we just started walking with a map in hand. Every city has had its wow factor and the one in Bern was by far the best. We walked through an archway of a building, only to discover the most beautiful scene. The pictures are definitely worth 1,000 words so I won't even attempt to describe it. Saturday morning (day 7, Aug 17) we were up in good time for another delicious European breakfast before heading out for more sight seeing. We did some shopping and got a little something for lunch on the train, which we boarded at 1pm for Paris, France.

I can never figure out the high cost of ice cream. Perhaps it is because some of us just have to buy it anyway?
